Why vellumcomes

What sets this practice apart

No product recommendations

We do not sell, advise on, or refer any financial product. Our sole purpose is to help you understand what you already hold.

Intentionally small groups

Sessions are kept small so that questions receive time and no one feels rushed through material that deserves careful attention.

Malaysian context throughout

Every example, every document type, and every retention rule is drawn from the Malaysian regulatory and financial environment.

Written, tangible outputs

Workshops and engagements produce printed materials — templates, dividers, or a typeset plan — that you can carry home and keep.

Paced to suit the material

Financial documents take time to absorb properly. Our formats are designed around that reality, not around a schedule that feels compressed.

Privacy-respecting practice

Your documents remain in your hands throughout. We use anonymised examples in group settings to protect every participant's privacy.

Common Questions

Before you enquire

Are these programmes suitable for someone with no financial background? +

Yes. The programmes are designed for people who are not finance professionals. The Household Archive Workshop in particular is pitched at anyone who has accumulated documents over the years and is unsure how to organise them. No prior knowledge is assumed.

Will you recommend financial products or investment accounts? +

No. vellumcomes does not hold a financial adviser's licence and does not recommend, endorse, or refer any financial product. Our work is strictly educational — we help you read and understand the documents and decisions in front of you.

How many people attend each session? +

The Reading Policy Documents programme is deliberately small — typically six to eight participants. The Household Archive Workshop accommodates up to twelve. The Written Financial Plan Engagement is a one-household engagement from start to finish.

Where are the workshops held? +

All group workshops take place at our Ipoh Old Town Square premises, which are accessible by public transport and have on-street parking nearby. The Written Financial Plan meetings can, where appropriate, be arranged to include one or two sessions held at a location more convenient to the client.

What does the fee cover for the Written Financial Plan? +

The RM 4,450 fee covers all five structured meetings, the preparation and revision of draft documents between sessions, the final typesetting and printing of the written plan on good-quality paper, and one follow-up call within three months of completion. There are no additional charges.

Can I attend more than one programme? +

Yes. A number of participants begin with the Household Archive Workshop to organise their paperwork, then proceed to the Reading Policy Documents programme once they have a clearer sense of what they hold. The Written Financial Plan Engagement draws naturally on both.
